Media Guide to Congress

The largest and most respected multi-disciplinary gathering of researchers in North America, the 78th annual Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences takes place from May 23 to May 31 at Carleton University in Ottawa. More than 8,000 delegates to the knowledge society -public intellectuals, authors, artists, researchers, scholars and students- from Canada and around the world will present groundbreaking research on the theme Capital Connections: nation, terroir, territoire. Formerly known as "The Learneds," the Congress has been held annually since 1931.

Accreditation
All media must apply for accreditation through the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences. Prior accreditation will allow us to serve you more efficiently when you arrive at Congress. Accreditation is necessary to gain access to:
  • All Congress sessions
  • Special events
  • On-site Media Room

Media Room

Parking
Marked media vehicles can park on campus with no problem as long as they are parked in a legal space. Those media who do not have marked vehicles can pick up a parking pass from the media team in the Congress media room.


Wireless
The media room has been equipped with wireless. There are also a few extra desktop computers for reporters to use on a first come, first served basis.
